It's a shame that the
Sanctuary of Truth was not part of our original itinerary of our one-day excursion
within Pattaya. Luckily, it was a
rainy day and we ended up in this place after canceling the Coral Island tour
we thought it would be ruined by the weather. The
entry fee was a bit too expensive considering it was only 500 THB for a walk
alone and could easily be doubled with added extras. However, the place is
simply amazing, and looking back I think it’s completely worth it.
Set by the sea, the temple was one of the most beautiful
architectural buildings that I saw. It took over 20 years to build and possibly
another 20 to complete. The detail is beautiful. Oh did I mention the whole
structure is made from teak! It is not historical or spiritual by any stretch of the word but it is
jaw dropping view from the viewpoint overlooking the temple several meters
above the ground. Walk down the
wooden stairs and continues to grow in the eye. Even so, at some point you feel like
it's almost unreal. The tour guide was
great and very knowledgeable with the history of the temple. There is a show of
traditional Thai dance and martial arts show which was great. The picture is
fantastic and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand.
